Cat’s Speech Button Sends Human into a Panic

Sarah Baker’s cat, Justin Bieber, has learned to use speech buttons to communicate, but one particular word sent chills down her spine. Justin, a Los Angeles-based cat, began pressing the “stranger” button repeatedly, often while staring out the window at night. Baker, who had taught Justin to use 41 buttons since 2021, found his new habit disturbing, especially when he paired it with “outside” or “window.”

“I was definitely a little alarmed,” Baker shared, recalling how unsettling it was to wake up to her cat saying “stranger outside” in the middle of the night. However, the mystery eventually unraveled. Living near a park, Baker realized Justin was likely referring to wildlife he had never encountered before, such as skunks and coyotes.

Now more familiar with his surroundings, Justin uses the “stranger” button far less frequently. His impressive communication skills, however, continue to delight Baker’s social media followers, where videos of Justin have gone viral.
