A brave dog named Alpha spent 48 hours guarding his humans’ bodies from wild animals after a tragic accident claimed their lives in India’s Himachal Pradesh during heavy snow. The two men were making their way back to their base camp after visiting a popular tourist attraction. However, due to heavy snow, the two decided to abandon their vehicle and continue on food. They were accompanied by Alpha. Sadly, the group appears to have slipped and fallen into a ravine. There, the two men, Abhinandan Gupta and Parnita Bal Sahib, appear to have perished from their injuries and exposure to the cold. Though Alpha also sustained injuries, the German Shepherd survived. For two days, the loyal dog stayed with the bodies.
After officials were notified that the two men were missing, rescue teams began looking near the men’s last known location. Eventually, they discovered the bodies. Alpha was standing guard, howling continuously. The brave dog seemed to know the team was there to help. Despite defending the bodies from animals such as black bears and leopards, the brave dog allowed the rescue team to recover the men’s remains.
