Watch “Awkward” Dog’s Reaction to His Human’s Stare

In a video posted to TikTok by @datdissgrace, an “awkward” dog’s reaction to his human’s stare has entertained viewers. The video, which has over 3.4 million views, shows an Australian Kelpie awkwardly returning his human’s stare. In the video, the poster can be heard saying “My dog starts to feel awkward when I stare at him so we’re gonna see how long it takes before he starts getting weird.” After a short time, the dog breaks eye contact and appears to sneeze. The awkward dog’s reaction continues as he then returns his human’s gaze for a short time before sneezing again and rolling on the ground.

Although many viewers found the video entertaining, others pointed out that dogs may be alarmed by such prolonged intense eye contact. While it can be useful to train your dog to look at you on command, you should avoid making eye contact with strange dogs. This is especially true for service dogs who may become distracted from their tasks.
