Authorities in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, are searching for three individuals after the discovery of over 20 neglected animals and more than 50 dead animals stored in freezers. The suspects—Eric Werner, Jadden Moore, and Mary Good—are facing serious charges, including aggravated animal cruelty and neglect, according to the local District Attorney’s Office.
The trio had been evicted from a residence on Falmouth Road in Conoy Township in September 2023. However, officials were unaware they had been living there, let alone that the home was filled with nearly 100 animals—both living and dead. The three suspects disappeared following their eviction, and their current whereabouts remain unknown.
The terrifying conditions were uncovered in October when a Pennsylvania SPCA officer was called to the boarded-up property. Inside, no food or water was available for the remaining animals. During the initial investigation, authorities rescued 15 adult cats, a kitten, three rats, and a snake. Tragically, one of the cats had to be euthanized shortly after due to severe health issues, according to the DA’s Office.
Weeks later, after a suspected burglary of the property, a second investigation revealed the full extent of the animal abuse. Officers found a total of 21 living animals and 55 dead ones. The deceased animals included a heartbreaking discovery: 16 kittens, five guinea pigs, two wild rabbits, and other cats and kittens wrapped in plastic bags and stored in a freezer alongside frozen food. A second freezer held an additional 17 dead animals. Further examinations showed that the surviving animals were in horrific condition—underweight, dehydrated, suffering from jaundice, hypothermia, and flea infestations.
Contact your local police department if you have information on the whereabouts of the suspects.
