Every year, 6-8 million cats and dogs are brought into animal shelters, and about 3-4 million of those pets are euthanized. While there are many reasons for why so many pets are euthanized, one major reason is based on the breed of dogs.
Because of their reputation for being intense fighting competitors, Pit Bulls have become one of the most persecuted breed of dog. The truth of the matter is that this breed is no different than other lovable dogs. Their behavior is simply a reflection of their guardian’s treatment. Despite this fact, Pit Bulls are still abandoned .
Such was the case for Tulip, the world’s sweetest Pit Bull. Tulip was abandoned in a high-kill shelter, and being a Pit Bull, her chances at survival didn’t look too good. Luckily, a rescue group was able to swoop in and pull Tulip out of the shelter and place her in a foster home that would teach her how to behave in a home. Eventually, Tulip was adopted by a loving family that accepted her based on her personality … not her breed.
Tulip’s story is beautiful, but at the end of the day we should all remember: “There are thousands of Tulips in shelters that are just waiting to be noticed … and there is something special about each and every one.”

I got my Magnum from a k9 police dog breeder. He is a brilliant healthy dog. I have rescued many mutts and strays and never had a dog as good as my Magnum. I will never rescue again. I have been mauled a day had my other dog mauled by 2 different rescues. I will only buy from a highly reputable breeder now. Rescue is not for everyone. I love my baby.
