Life can be very difficult for farm animals. Most of them will be mistreated during their short lives, growing up in squalid, cramped conditions and being denied the bonds of family or any other type of love. The majority of “food” animals are raised in factory farms where they are numbered and treated like commodities from the second they are born. This is nowhere close to any sort of life that a living, feeling creature deserves.
Thankfully, there are some people and organizations who recognize this and work to give animals a better life. Skylands Animal Sanctuary is one such organization that works to offer a safe haven for farm animals to live and grow.
The rescued cows in this video are feeling the freedom of grass and sun for the first time in their lives, but luckily it won’t be the last. The people at the Skylands Animal Sanctuary will make sure that these well-deserving animals are able to live out their lives in peace and dignity.
