Abandoned Dog Who Was Terrified When Police Showed Up to Help Finally Gets Rescued (VIDEO)

Any animal lover would tell you that their dogs are more than just pets to them, they are family. We shower them with toys, love, yummy treats and would do anything to ensure their well-being. But sadly, not everyone thinks of dogs in this way. Poor Pepe, the dog in the video above, was abandoned on the busy streets of Los Angeles and, understandably, he was terrified. His fur was matted and filthy and it’s hard to say when the last time he had food or water was.

But thanks to Hope for Paws, Pepe wasn’t on the streets for long! When two members of Hope for Paws arrived on the scene, Pepe ran away and cowered. Being cautious not to lead Pepe out onto the busy Los Angeles streets, the team bought food to try and lure the pup towards them. Even when police stopped by to see what the situation was, Pepe was too scared to leave his safe corner. But thanks to the diligence of the Hope for Paws team, he started to trust his rescuers. Their patience eventually paid off when Pepe wandered into their humane trap.

Once they were back at the Hope for Paws facility, Pepe started to relax and he even smiled after getting some good pets.
