“Imagine a world without elephants…”
How about a world without whales?
These celebrities have come together to urge the people of the U.S. to protect these massive and magnificent creatures. In two PSAs, these celebrities discuss the horrors the befall these amazing animals and how we can work to help them.
In the first PSA, the celebrities discuss the ivory trade and its effect on elephant populations. The U.S. is the world’s second largest market for ivory. It is in piano keys, statues, even jewelry. These trivial items are a result of a beautiful, intelligent creature, an elephant, dying.
They ask us “is it worth it?”
One elephant dies every 15 minutes to contribute its tusks to this cruel trade. The only way to stop it … stop buying ivory and stop supporting stores and organizations that sell ivory. The White House has take an important first step in setting up the National Strategy for Combatting Wildlife Trafficking. It is up to the consumers to make a difference though. When the buying stops, so can the killing. In only a few years we could see the demise of this amazing creature.
And it isn’t just the elephants in danger. Ocean noise, Pollution, fishing lines and so called “scientific whaling” are causing a crash in the populations of these creatures. But it isn’t too late to help.
