It really doesn’t matter how you pronounce it, though the official way is “ah-sigh-ee”, as long as you enjoy it.  It can take a long time to perfect this acai bowl recipe after enjoying a version of it at your local farmer’s market every weekend. Acai is that superfood y’all have heard about, we are sure.  But what we are diggin’ is that these bowls can replace a dessert, especially when it’s hot outside.

Acai Bowls [Vegan]


3 cups

Cooking Time




For the Acai Bowls:

  • 2 cups frozen berries
  • 3/4 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup raw, organic oats OR ground flax seeds (*or use frozen bananas)
  • 1 tablespoon acai powder (or puree-found in frozen aisle)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • protein powder
  • kale or other greens
  • seeds: hemp, chia, flax
  • probiotics
  • nut butters
  • coconut oil
  • moringa powder

Optional Toppings:

  • granola
  • coconut flakes
  • chia seeds
  • chocolate chips
  • nuts
  • goji berries
  • moringa powder
  • drizzle of syrup



  1. Using a high-powered blender, blend together frozen berries, non-dairy milk, oats or flax seeds and acai powder.
  2. Use a spatula to evenly distribute into bowls. Be ready with your toppings so it doesn't melt! Top if off with a drizzle of syrup and enjoy right away.
