The New Jersey VegFest is Returning to Feed You All This October!

untitled-87

New Jersey, you are in for a treat. This October 7 and 8, The New Jersey VegFest is coming back to the Meadowlands Expo Center in New Jersey. The popular vegan food and lifestyle festival will feature an array of vegan food vendors, as well as vegan clothing, authors and their books, speakers, and beer (for the 21 and over crowd).

If you’re someone who hears the word “veg fest” and automatically starts picturing big piles of lettuce and kale, rest assured: VegFest food is anything but boring. Vegan vendors such as Gelotti Inc, Candle Cafe, Gone Pie, and Roots Cafe will be serving up an assortment of different delectable plant-based delights, like empanadas, veggie burgers, gourmet vegan hot dogs, soup, cookies, and more. Check out the full vendor line-up here.

Tickets are free for anyone under 12, and run between $30 to $50 for everyone else. You can nab yourself a ticket to the event here. Bring your appetite!

Make Your Own Vegan Food at Home!

Can’t make it to Jersey? Don’t worry! Our Food Monster App has just what you need to make festival worthy vegan food right at home.

Make a seasonal empanada, like these Pumpkin Spice Empanadas With Apple Cinnamon Cranberry Filling.

Larice Feuerstein‘s recipe features a crust that is crisp on the edges, yet tender, and delicately pumpkin-flavored with a touch of pie spices. The filling is bursting with cinnamon-infused apples and tart cranberries. They are also just too cute! Sweet and neat little mini pies, no forks necessary. If you’re looking for a last-minute appetizer or dessert idea, look no further!

These Turmeric Zucchini Fritters are full of veggies but are not boring.

Not too sure on what to do with the excess turnips that come with the fall season? Have no fear. Simona Malerba‘s recipe has your back. Packed with warming spices, they’re the perfect way to transition this summer squash into fall.

Go all out and indulge in these Eggplant Hummus Wraps With Smoky Tomato Confit by Viktoria Radichkova.

Eggplant hummus wraps with smoky tomato confit — loaded with creamy hummus, roasted smoky tomatoes, and chopped Kalamata olives. These wraps taste amazing and are the perfect meal or appetizer! The slight smokiness of the tomatoes and the light garlic flavor go so well with the juicy charred eggplant flesh; you won’t miss the dough.
