Once upon a time, the world was filled with deer, running free, everywhere you looked. However, with the spread of cities and roads and the demands of the ever increasing human population, all of that has changed. Nowadays, deer are considered pests because they run out into roads and get into gardens, causing property damage and accidents. Because of this, they are a prime target for hunters who kill countless animals every year. With all of these human threats, is there any place that is safe for a deer to just be?
The good people at Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary say yes. Located on 153 acres in Victoria Australia’s Macedon Mountains, they provide sanctuary for all kinds of animals to live out their days in peace.
Hopscotch, Bambi and Gemima are three lucky ladies (featured ever so joyfully in this video) who will never know the fear of being threatened by cars, hunters or any other form of harm again. The happy dance that they do while frolicking in their large pen only goes to show that deer, like every other animal on the planet including humans, feel love and deserve happiness.
