New plant-based burgers have been popping up almost every day it seems. From Don Lee Farms’ new organic plant-based burger that has already sold one million patties in just sixty days, to fast-food restaurant White Castle now offering Impossible Sliders, consumers are undeniably opting for plant-based options. Now, there is yet another all-vegan and all-organic company in the mix called Freshiez!
Freshiez plant-based burgers and taco crumbles can already be found in more than 20 stores and restaurants in Maine!

Owner Wes Acker is planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise the capital to fund a planned mail-order service called the Meatless Butcher Box. Each box will include 16 portions of organic plant-based meats. Acker hopes to take the service nationwide. We can’t wait!

Freshiez Kickstarter campaign will launch on April 27th and run for a month. Keep an eye out on their website for when you can Support their Meatless Butcher Box!
With the plant-based meat market expected to rise to a value of $6.43 billion by 2023, it’s definitely a great time for this company to be entering the space. Beyond the potential economic benefit of the plant-based food market, plant-based burgers and meats have the potential to make a major positive impact on the environment. A recent study found that producing meat substitutes generates around 10 times less greenhouse gas emissions than beef-based products. Considering the major role meat production plays in global Climate change, the more plant-based burgers people eat, the better!
