This Little Dog Plays Dead When He’s Picked Up (VIDEO)

While they might not ever tell us to our faces, it goes a bit without saying that our dogs play favorites. We’ve sat and snuggled with our dogs, only to watch them bound up and choose a new lap to sit on when their preferred human comes into the room. Yes, it stings to know that our little besties have other friends … but, what can you do?

The dog featured in this video has best friends – and a clear frenemy. Indeed, dogs have frenemies too! Jennie Kay Blair Ferguson writes on Facebook, “Dad’s dog hates Daniel and barks constantly at him.”

We’ve seen our dogs do this. When they get a whiff of a human they don’t like, the barking never ends! But, this little pooch takes his disdain for Daniel to a new level. When Daniel picks up the little dog, he freezes and plays dead. Whether this happens because the dog is legitimately scared or if he just refuses to dignify Daniel’s entreating belly rubs is unknown. But it looks like Daniel really just wants to be friends (maybe he should try making some of these treats to win the dog over).

When the pup is placed back on the lap of his guardian he pops right back to his animated self, it’s pretty incredible.
