Attention cat guardians! There’s a serious epidemic of addiction in the feline community that needs your attention! This epidemic strikes at home, resulting in strange behavior exhibited by our beloved cats. This substance causes bizarre behavior, erratic movement, and even paranoia. This substance is catnip.
If you believe your cat is addicted to catnip, confirm with the video below and evaluate the five stages of catnip. If you recognize these five stages in your cat, he or she is most likely addicted to the substance.
However, there’s good news, as you probably already know, catnip is harmless to cats. So no need to rush them to a catnip rehab center just yet! In fact, catnip is a member of the mint family and, according to the Humane Society of the United States, can cause different reactions in different cats, as well as a different reaction when smelled verses eaten.
