Neal and Jeremiah are two dogs who were fortunate enough to be taken under the wing of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC after they found themselves in a shelter. Both have been severely neglected and they now have to deal with the heartbreaking physical consequences of that neglect. But they are no longer alone. Neal and Jeremiah are finally safe and slowly beginning to recuperate – and they found comfort in each other.

Jeremiah suffers from a deep ulcerated cornea, which might result in the dog losing his eye. For the time being, the vet taking care of Jeremiah is trying medications to save the pup’s eye.

Neal’s ears are badly infected both on the inside and on the outside. He is also suffering from a severe skin infection all over his body, which has caused him to lose much of his fur.

Both dogs are in much physical pain and they are still afraid of what will happen next – but in the midst of that, they have found a great help and comfort in each other. Before they were saved by Rescue Dogs Rock, they would curl up with one another in the shelter.

“Even through their fear and suffering at the shelter they did manage to comfort each other by holding each other,” the rescue team wrote. “We are sure that this helped them through this horrible experience of feeling abandoned and homeless.” Neal and Jeremiah still have a long way to go, but once they recover, they will have a whole new world ahead of them – and finally a chance for a loving home.
