Don’t be a litterbug! It is a simple life lesson that is taught to children from the age they can speak and every year after, but it seems like the message just isn’t sticking. It is no secret that as a society, we have a trash problem.

In the United States alone, we have so much garbage that we are running out of landfill space. To make matters worse, when garbage doesn’t make it into these landfills, it litters the streets, sewers and coastlines…the Pacific garbage patch can be seen from outer space! And the U.S. is hardly alone in committing these heinous trash crimes. Our five-year old selves would be so ashamed of us! But since, our little counterparts aren’t around to scold our recklessness, this Toronto based advertising company is here to do it for them.

The campaign was designed as part of the Live Green Toronto, the city’s initiative to promote eco-conscious living.

As the tag line of the campaign reads, “Littering says a lot about you.” So what exactly does your litter say about you as a person?

We absent-mindedly assume that once our trash is out of our own sight, it magically disappears.

But this is what the planet, and the many animals that suffer as the result of our careless actions, think about us.

So, is this the way you really want the world to see you? If not…pick up your trash!
