Anyone who has cared for a dog knows what a soothing presence they can have. They have an uncanny sixth sense about what to do when we’re upset and never fail to restore a smile to our faces. For this reason, dogs also make incredible therapy animals for people.
Danielle Jacobs suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome and has a therapy dog named Samson to help her navigate life.
On YouTube, Danielle writes, “This is what having Asperger’s is like. Please no negative comments this really happened and it’s not easy to open myself and share what it’s like on a daily basis. This is what’s considered a meltdown.”
Samson has been specially trained to calm Danielle down and stop her from inflicting harm upon herself when she is having a meltdown. She explains that after this happens, she tends to have a panic attack, so Samson will sit by her side to help her recover.
Seeing Samson’s calm and kind nature is truly amazing and we are so happy that Danielle has him.
How brave for Danielle to open up. And how wonderful for her to share the amazing gift that dogs have. Thank you.
Stop Yulin, stop the dog meat trade.
I really feel so sad, seeing her struggle….almost brought me to tears. having bipolar and sometimes stuggling so bad wanting to end my life (I know it\’s not the same issues) seeing her dog help her is moving) I feel so many feelings for her (wishing I could be there to give her a hug, or kind words, or just anything I could do) Sorry you had a bad day.
