Gary Grayson, a videographer, was scuba diving in the Scilly Island, off the English coast, when he met a very friendly Atlantic Grey Seal who just wanted to be friends! Grayson was only too happy to oblige and gave the sea lion some belly rubs and chin scratches. They even shook hands (fins?) a couple of times!
Seals are very curious creatures, as you can see from this one. They are a very social species that is known for gathering together during certain times of the year to molt, breed and travel, and are very often found in the Canadian maritime provinces and the eastern Atlantic ocean, although many Atlantic Grey Seals hang out in the Baltic.
Many different species of seals are interested enough (and brave enough) to approach humans when they are out surfing. Even underwater critters want to make new friends sometimes!
