In the mood for a mega-dose of cuteness, Green Monsters? The sweet video above, posted by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), shows what happened when two adorable rescued bear cubs – currently living in the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center, Cal. – came across a pool in their play area! Their antics are sure to bring a smile to your face.
Both bears arrived at the Center in tragic circumstances. One was emaciated and found in Tehachapi, Cal., alongside his dead mother, who was believed to have been the victim of a hit and run accident. The second bear was found in the middle of a busy area in Boron, Cal., climbing an electric pole in an attempt to escape from nearby humans. As his mother was nowhere in sight, it is believed that he was an orphan who had wandered into the town to try and find some food.
Their carers said, “The two have been taught to forage, climb trees, and dig amongst rocks. They have also been taught to run and hide from humans. Through trial and error, they have learned how to communicate with each other and are demonstrating appropriate vocalizations and body posturing.” Once they have learned enough survival skills, both bears will be released back into the wild.
