This hen is the happiest she can possibly be in her new home at the Manning River Farm Animal Sanctuary. To prove it, she not only contently and graciously accepts a good neck rub, but she purrs to let the staff at MRFAS know that she is oh, so happy. As the massage continues, this hen has no shame, and even allows herself to close her eyes and really experience the relaxation.The hen has a sore leg, so she has been a little spoiled each day with the massages.

MRFAS is a sanctuary dedicated to providing a forever home for rescued farm animals. This sanctuary provides a place for these animals who would have died otherwise with a place to happily live out their days. This sanctuary believes that animals “are not here for us, but with us.”

And from the looks of it, these wonderful people make it a point to make farm animal live’s the best they can be. In fact, with daily massages, we’re a little jealous of the life this hen get to lead there! Can we come stay for a while?
