Animal abuse can come in many forms, and this story is proof that a little love and attention to animals’ basic needs can make a huge impact. Meet Hidey, a very sweet Calico cat with severe matting. Hidey was brought to Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center in Pennsylvania after her elderly guardian passed away. While little is known about the treatment or care that Hidey received in the care of her guardian, one thing was apparent, the cat’s fur had been severely neglected for years. Poor Hidey has long fur that can easily tangle and mat. After years of little to no grooming, her coat turned into a massive tangle of dreadlocks. Surely, when she arrived at the shelter for care, the rescue team realized they had their work cut out for them,
We’re so glad that Hidey was given a second chance and compassionate people helped uncover her from her matted fur. This gorgeous gal definitely deserves it and we wish her the best of luck in her forever home.
The Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center has taken this as an opportunity to remind people to check in on the elderly in your community and to also check in on the animals in their care. For tips on how to make sure your cat or kitten leads a healthy and happy life, check out these simple tips.
