It’s not often that a dog is included with the purchase of a new home. This is exactly what happened in a recent case … only it wasn’t under the happiest of circumstances. A Pit Bull was found chained up in the basement of a recently purchased house –thankfully, the new homeowner immediately called the Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

According to the video posted on the rescue’s Facebook page, the dog had been living in the basement for quite some time and was found surrounded by feces. Regardless of the situation, the Pit Bull was in good spirits and clearly ecstatic to be in the presence of people. The sweet girl was fittingly named Jumping Bean and will now finally be safe in the loving care of the Stray Rescue.

Please remember that adding a pet to your family is a lifelong commitment that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is never acceptable to abandon an animal in such a heartless manner. We can only hope that Jumping Bean will get a new life with a family who deserves her. To learn more or donate to the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, click here.

And why would you purchase a home WITHOUT looking in the basement. Crazy. Glad the beautiful Pit was rescued.

Did it occur to anyone to go after the previous homeowner, presumably the one that left him there?

Exactly! They should be charged with animal cruelty and neglect!
