Now that holiday season is officially in full swing, it is time to remember those in need and give what we are able to help them out, and a monkey sanctuary in Nigeria desperately needs your help now more than ever.
CERCOPAN is a non-profit organization that has been rescuing and rehabilitating primates who are found as orphans from the bushmeat trade in Nigeria. They have been doing this for twenty years, but due to lack of funding, they have been forced to shut down. Of the 144 primates they have rescued, all but fourteen have been released back in the wild or placed in new sanctuaries. And these last fourteen only have about a month before CERCOPAN officially closes its doors.
Here is where your help will make all the difference in the world. They need to raise $13,500 to rehome these last remaining monkeys, but because they are not a major non-profit and have relied primarily on grants instead of private donors, they have a ways to go before meeting that mark. The funds will go directly toward the relocation of these fourteen primates, which includes acquiring permits, enrichment, and safe enclosures to transport them.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to CERCOPAN so these beautiful animals can live the rest of their lives under expert care at sanctuaries with other monkeys. You can Donate to the cause on their fundraising page here.
And please help get the word out by sharing this with your network to help increase Support for these monkeys!

We must help them!!!!
GREAT PEOPLE AT CERCOPAN TO HELP THE ANIMALS FROM THE CRUEL BUSH MEAT TRADE THAT NEEDS TO END.
First, the bush meat holocaust must be stopped. Meat is not required to sustain human life or health. Second, we must reduce the human load by developing policies to get people to stop having kids, to drive the global population to well below 2 billion and Africa\’s below 100 million. Nonhuman animals have the same rights that we claim for ourselves.
