Here’s an odd couple. Watch this fearless meerkat lounge with and tease a comparatively enormous Siberian husky dog named Bond. The gentle dog patiently brushes off his companion’s behavior, showing that some animals can get along great in spite of a size difference.

The cute and cartoonish meerkat shown here is part of Rostock Ritz’s rehabilitation unit in Namibia. The Ritz rescues meerkats that some locals keep as pets and then abandon. While in rehab, the meerkats form families and enjoy playing on the Ritz’s abundant desert land, rubbing their noses in wet sand and watching the sun set. Once they’re rehabilitated, the Ritz releases the meerkats back into the wild.

Rostock Ritz tourists, who come for the desert view and quirky igloo-like lodging, love watching these meerkat families play nearby. The land around the campground — a no-hunting zone — also allows zebras, wildcats, ostriches, and other native wildlife to roam worry-free.
