Oh no! It’s the bunny-pocalypse! It’s the battle of rabbit-ageddon, the world is being taken over by fluff balls! No, of course, not really. But, that would be a pretty awesome way for the world to end,  don’t you think? Compared to the other options anyway.

Get ready to be mobbed by cuteness! I had pet rabbits growing up, so I have a special place in my heart for these little ones. And where I grew up in Colorado, wild bunnies seemed to be everywhere. But never have I seen so many in one place! Much less climbing all over a person!

This is Bunny Island in Japan, a small island located in the Inland Sea of Japan in the city of Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture. It’s a popular tourist destination in Japan, but no one is quite sure why the place is so utterly dominated by these feral bunnies. One theory is they were brought there as test subjects for experiments during WWII. Whatever their origin, the rabbits here have the run of the island now, living in a perfect bunny heaven. These little guys have absolutely no qualms about swarming this man as he feeds them. He’s lucky they’re all vegan!

Rabbits make wonderful and sweet pets, especially for kids, so maybe you should check out your local animal shelter or rescue and see if they have any up for adoption! If you’re curious, you can find out more about Bunny Island by visiting their Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram pages.
