It’s only been a couple of weeks, but Susie the piglet is feeling so much better after being cared for by Marisol of Santuario Igualdad. After Susie escaped the confines of a factory farm, she injured her leg while running. Marisol has been showering this sweet baby with love and care ever since. Susie was extremely young and frail when she came into the sanctuary’s care, but now she is so much stronger and, clearly, happy about being able to get around. Are those not the cutest noises ever?!
Susie’s bravery has given her a life that most animals on factory farms will never experience. While some people might find it comforting to think of their food as something separate or different than the sentient animal we see above, the reality is that this is nothing more than a social construct … and something we can readily change ourselves just by opening our hearts and our eyes.
We look forward to seeing Susie grow up into a happy, healthy girl and show everyone that all animals deserve the opportunity to be happy. Keep being adorable and rocking that dress, Susie!

This is an insult to the billions of piglets killed in the name of judeo.christian dominion. Cuteness will not inspire compassion, only a revocation of the cruel words of genesis will end the terror animals face at the hands of their righteous killers, the butchers of genesis:
Genesis 9:1-3 “The fear and dread of you shall rest on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the air, on everything that creeps on the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.”
