Human development has been cutting into wildlife areas for decades. And the more we encroach on the natural habitats of wild animals, the more we begin to see things like bears digging through our trash cans and, sadly, animals who have been hit by cars on the road.
While the case of the latter often ends with the tragic death of the animal, in some cases,there is still hope! Just take foxes Tammy and Todd, for example.
Both of these animals sustained traumatic injuries from car collisions. Their injuries were so extensive, in fact, that their rescuers were most preoccupied with figuring out how to best put them out of their misery. Eventually, it was decided that the two foxes would be taken to Woodland’s Wildlife Sanctuary so they could die peacefully.
However, their rescuers at the sanctuary decided to put everything they had into helping these animals survive – even if the outlook seemed bleak. And to their shock and amazement, Todd and Tammy both kept getting better! After months of recovery, these two are in tip-top shape and loving each other’s company.
Remember, if you ever find a wounded fox or another wild animal, like a baby deer or a bobcat, please call an animal rescue agency with qualified professional wildlife rehabbers before taking action. This simple step can help keep you and the animal safe – and hopefully, lead to a happy ending like Tammy and Todd’s.
