Did you know that there are currently 70 million homeless dogs and cats living in the U.S.? As an animal lover, that statistic can seem baffling – after all, so many people have pets, how can that be true? But sadly, it is the reality for many animals in the country. What’s even more heartbreaking is the fact that the large majority of these animals will never find their way into shelters, let alone find forever homes. Thankfully, there are many organizations and kind individuals working to change this. Two of them being Hope for Paws and Chews Life, the organizations featured in this video.
When the Hope for Paws team got a call about a homeless Pit Bull living in a suburban neighborhood, they immediately set out to help. Most people wrongly assume that all Pit Bulls are vicious, aggressive dogs due to stereotypes spawned from the dog fighting industry. In reality, however, Pit Bulls are just as capable of being sweet and loving companions when raised by responsible pet parents. Sadly, because many people have these misconceptions about Pit Bulls, these pups are more likely to be abandoned or abused than others. Luckily for this pup, named Eden, this amazing rescue team wasn’t about to let that be her story.
Eden was terrified at first, but once she was inside the rescue crate, she calmed down and started to show her true colors. Within a few hours, she warmed up to the team and became a whole new pup!
