As dog lovers and devoted pup parents, it can be extremely difficult to understand how a person could abuse a dog. Our dogs show us nothing but unconditional love and loyalty and in many ways they’re family members. But sadly, some people take advantage of these traits and use their dog’s loyalty and desire to please against them and train them to fight.

This was the case for Remi, the scared Pit Bull featured in this video. Before he was rescued by Russ Harper, a Humane Police Officer with Justice Rescue, Remi was repeatedly used to fight other dogs. When he became ill and was too weak to continue fighting, he was abandoned and left to die in a bed of weeds. Thankfully, Russ found the injured and abused pup and saved him from this horrific existence.

For the first time in his life, Remi is safe and free from the threat of pain, fear or abuse. He is undergoing medical treatment at Keystone Veterinary and Emergency Referral and still has a long way to go until he is fully recovered, but you can see just how grateful he is to be rescued. Remi wants nothing more than to snuggle up with the amazing human who changed his life, and it is a truly incredible sight to see.

Hopefully, Remi will recover quickly and find a loving forever home where he can get all of the love and cuddles he needs – and more!
