Beauties and Beasts Rescue is looking for a new forever home for the beautiful Iris, whose adoption fee is entirely sponsored. She is a loving, affectionate girl who just wants to be adopted by someone who will love her like she deserves. Iris is currently in boarding in Wichita, Kansas. She is a five-year-old Pit Bull mix, great with kids, and ready for adoption immediately. Wouldn’t you want this beautiful little girl to be waiting to welcome you home after a long day?
The Beauties and Beasts team shared on Facebook, “Iris was patiently waiting for her family at PetSmart today. She really turned on the charm any time a new prospect walks up. Earlier, when some kids were walking away, she started whining at them, and when they disappeared from view, her tail stopped wagging.” Is that not enough just to break your heart?!
Pit Bull breeds are notoriously harder to adopt than any others due to the stereotypes created by cruel breeders who use them to fight – instead of the nature of the dogs themselves. They can take almost three times as long as any other dog to be adopted. And of the 6.5 million pets that enter our shelters each year, Pit Bulls tend to be the first to be euthanized when no one wants them.
Please look at Iris. She was bred for puppies and then essentially tossed out as trash. She is a lovely dog who desperately needs a second chance in life.
