When Hope for Paws received a call about a senior dog who had been living on the streets for about a year, Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz headed out to the location. According to neighbors, the poor boy had been abandoned by his family after they moved away. Though neighbors were kind enough to give him food and water, they knew he deserved so much more. Lisa and JoAnn named him Al Capone and his freedom ride was in full effect in no time.

First stop … the vet. Upon examination, it was discovered that Al Capone had a large tumor in his abdomen. Due to concern that the mass might rupture, he underwent surgery immediately. After two months of recovery, Al Capone was feeling better and L.A. Animal Rescue found him a forever home! Now, this sweet pup is receiving endless love and will live out his days in a warm, safe, and caring place.
