The Philadelphia Animal Hospital recently took on a severe dog abuse case and needs your help. Thankfully, two good Samaritans brought the dog, now named Charlie, to the animal hospital after finding him tied to a dumpster and badly beaten. The Philadelphia Animal Hospital notes on Facebook that Charlie is a “very sweet dog and is in stable condition.”

The Philidelphia Animal Hospital is not looking for donations for Charlie’s care, as they will handle all of the costs, but instead, is asking for donations to non-profit City of Elderly Love: Save a Senior Pet. City of Elderly Love provides care and foster care to senior animals in the Philadelphia area and will be coordinating the post-care for Charlie.

We simply can not understand why someone would abuse an innocent animal and then heartlessly leave them to fend for themselves. If you’d like to make a donation to the City of Elderly Love, click here

Just the thought of animal abuse is enough to bring any animal lover to tears. Tragic stories involving humans abusing animals seem to make headlines on a daily basis. Reading these stories can be difficult and make you feel as if no progress is being made to save and protect all the animals humans interact with or take responsibility for. Without voices to speak up for themselves or proper laws (and enforcement of the laws that do exist) to shield them from neglect or physical abuse, it is up to us to step in and do all we can to end the violence. This involves speaking out and raising awareness for animals who are the victims of abuse and also even working help get laws changed or improved on a state or national level.

Please always speak up if you see animal abuse by calling the proper authorities. It’s important we speak up for those who cannot!
