What do you do when you lose a best friend? It’s not something that any of us would ever wish to imagine. I mean, where would we be without daily texts including gifs of our favorite actors doing insane things? Who in the world will send you avocados when you go away to camp and you’re forced to live off of peanut butter sandwiches for three weeks?! These are the real hard-hitting questions, folks!

And sadly, this is the question that Harlow, the Weimaraner had to ask herself when her friend Sage, the elderly dachshund passed away. On her website, Harlow writes, “[Sage] taught me all about movies, cuddling and of course, Meryl Streep.”

Like any best buddy, this loss was hard on Harlow. But, fortunately, Harlow has found a new friend with whom to stave off the loneliness…Indiana. Like Sage, Indiana is a Dachshund. Harlow selected Indiana as her new bestie because, “she had the best sense of humor.”

Now, Harlow has taken on the role of older sister and best friend and has taken on the task of teaching Indiana about all the most important lessons in life, let’s see how Harlow’s doing…

The first lesson of course, is to dream BIG! Never let your size discourage you when faced with a big treat.

You gotta live a little every now and then…sometimes mom gets mad, but she’ll get over it.

You have to be willing to help a sista in need…

Nap time is non-negotiable.

As are post-nap selfies…Can you believe this bed head?!

JK, we’re flawless…

For Halloween we dress up like sheep-dogs…we’ll get back at mom for this later…

If ANYONE mentions the word treat, drop everything and work the puppy eyes!

If mom ever, and I mean EVER suggests we watch “Mama Mia” make this face…the film barely does Meryl justice.

But most of all, little buddy, you have to laugh at least once a day, if not a hundred times a day–because what’s friendship without that!
