Many laboratories and research facilities regularly get away with murder and torturing animals under the guise of “science,” and animal advocates have been fighting to save laboratory animals for several decades. However, animal testing is still very commonplace, despite alternative humane methods that procure more beneficial results.

A PETA eyewitness investigation revealed shocking cases of animal cruelty at a research facility in central New York called Liberty Research, Inc. Dogs, namely beagles, were injected with insecticides and had holes drilled in their heads so a deadly virus could be implanted directly into their brains. And cats were seen suffocated and suffering from extreme malnourishment in overcrowded cages.

Several major corporations like Bayer, Merck, Zoetis, Novartis, and several universities conduct business with Liberty Research, Inc., and PETA is urging them to cut ties with this cruel research facility. A petition has been set up on Care2 by PETA informing these corporations about the reality behind the closed doors at Liberty Research, Inc. and encouraging them to stand against such extreme cases of animal torture.
