For some glorious reason (or not, depending on your perspective we suppose), November has become a month where people attempt to grow the most glorious mustache that they can. Started by a group of friends in 1999 as a charity fundraiser in Australia, “Mo-vember” has become a way for people to bond for a month over handlebars and fu manchus.

Never to be outshone, there are tons of animals that sport some pretty rockin’ facial hair themselves. Seriously, you’ve never seen a mustache as resplendent as the one sported by the Emperor Tamarin. You. Have. Not.

In honor of this hilarious and hirsute heyday, we’ve compiled a collection of a few of our favorite extra-furry friends who are doing the best impressions of firefighters, outlaws and 70s newscasters ever. If you were on the fence about participating in Mo-vember yourself, a few of these may inspire you…or not, a couple of them are pretty impossible to beat.

This frog is so metal, even his mustache is spiked.
