A sea lion found himself in a rut when he decided to go exploring. He traveled some 1,200 feet from shore and trekked through the barren woods of Kavalerovo, Russia, one chilly afternoon. The little guy had a little too much fun on his adventure and ended up not knowing which way was home.
“There were traces of his flippers in the forest, so for sure he got into the forest all by himself,” said Elena, whose parents discovered the sea lion.
Elena’s parents were taking a stroll through the forest of Kavalerovo when they spotted this unusual sight. A sea lion lost in the forest. And so, they took it upon themselves to bring him back to sea.
Remember, although this good samaritan, decided to help out the lost sea lion on his own. It’s strongly advised that you do not attempt to touch or interact with a stranded marine animal without professional help. Observe from a distance, check for any visible injuries, and call an animal rescue hotline, while you standby. Check out OGP’s Animal Rescue Hotline for a comprehensive list of animal rescue numbers!
