A Lesson in Determination From Grier, the Blind Sun Bear (VIDEO)

If you are in a little need of some inspiration to help you shake of the weekday blues after a long weekend, check out this video from Animals Asia featuring Grier, the blind Sun Bear.

Animals Asia explains on their website that Grier was born with a degenerative condition that caused changes in her retinas and is also a survivor of a “worrying stroke-like incident.” Despite her disability, Grier never misses a step. Animals Asia describes her as, “an active and fun-loving bear,” two qualities certainly proven by this adorable video.

Cracking open a coconut is a challenging task to begin with; can you imagine attempting to do so without being able to see it? Well, this specific challenge has become a sort of game for little Grier. Knowing the wonderful sweetness that lies inside the hard to wrangle coconut, Grier remains undaunted in her quest to obtain her treat.

Grier is a true survivor and her unrelenting determination to get the most out of the happy life she leads thanks to Animals Asia is an inspiration to us all. So keep Grier in mind everytime you are faced with a challenge that just seems to be too much — where there is a will, there is a way.
