Hope for Paws has been a leader in helping to solve the stray dog crisis in Los Angeles. Always willing to go above and beyond, Hope for Paws saves dogs that others can’t or simply are not willing to. And we have yet another amazing rescue story to share with you.
For months, a stray Pit Bull was seen wandering the fields of an oil refinery. Understandably, the dog was scared. Whenever someone tried to approach him, he would bolt and find shelter in one of the tiny pipes. Trying to find him among the sea of pipes proved difficult, so the Hope for Paws rescue team was called in.
Using a long pole, the skilled rescue team managed to maneuver the pup out from his hiding place and coax him straight into the safety of a crate. Once inside the crate, the Pit Bull wasn’t sure if he could trust humans after living on the streets for so long, but he soon warmed up. The team named him Tank and swept him off to their hospital for care.
With the help of a little love, Tank transformed into an adorable, loving lap dog! If you or someone you know is interested in making a new furry best friend, Tank is up for adoption.

I love this breed. They are gentle giants. They can be vicious but look to the owner or trainer for creating that aggression. Also to the lady who said the pit bit her son for no apparent reason I only have this to say. If that dog was really vicious and ferocious, your son would not be alive today so clearly he wasn\’t. There is another issue. How many of this breed are severely abused by humans in comparison to the amt of dog bites received by humans????????/
I agree with you 1000%. There is the story coming out of Florida about the sicko who repeatedly RAPED a pit bull 100 times in a 3.5 year span before his roommate *finally* contacted the authorities. I have read that the poor dog, Baby Girl, was euthanized. If that is indeed true then they killed the wrong animal. These dogs have gotten a very bad rap.
