Prepare to have your heartstrings tugged! This amazing rescue story of a dog and five kittens is sure to warm your heart. Last weekend, a person in Ontario, Canada came across a dog snuggled up in the freezing cold. They noticed that there were five kittens snuggled up to the dog and the dog was keeping them warm. They were stuck in the snow on a freezing night. Fortunately, the person who found them brought them to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue shelter.

It was certainly too cold for the kittens who were just newborn kittens and much too young to be in the freezing cold alone. It was possibly even too cold for the dog. But one thing is for sure — the dog is a hero! Pet and Wildlife Rescue shelter posted this amazing photo of the dog checking in on the dogs when they were safe in the shelter:

The awesome dog, whose name is now Serenity is doing great and there’s already a lot of interest in adopting her. Because the kittens are so young, they need to stay at the shelter a little longer and will eventually be adopted into their forever homes too. After December 3rd, which is when Serenity will be spayed, she’ll be ready to go to her forever home. They explained it all, as well as the kind of home she should go to, in another Facebook post:

She’s absolutely gorgeous, but more importantly she’s a hero! We hope she finds her forever home soon. You can apply to adopt Serenity or another animal in need of a home at the shelter.
