This rescue story of three precious puppies is sure to bring a smile to your face and tears to your eyes! With all the animal cruelty in the world that we must raise awareness for and speak up against, it’s nice to hear a wonderful story where animals have a happy ever after. In this case, three fluffy pups are going to have happy forever homes thanks to a couple who happened to stumble upon them while snowboarding.

On Saturday, November 29th, 2019, Holt and Kat Perry were snowboarding in Utah when they spotted a Great Pyrenees dog. They said: “I’m not going to leave any animal on the mountain to starve, especially, it was obvious she had pups.” The dog and her three puppies were five miles from the nearest paved road.

The couple contacted Weber County Search and Rescue who came to help. The couple and rescuers tried really hard to rescue the dog and her puppies, but the dog wouldn’t trust them. They were able to save the puppies who had been living in a sheep carcass, which was likely the dog’s only food source. They left the mother dog with 20 pounds of dog food with hopes of returning for her.

It was likely a larger litter, but only two males and one female pup survived. Perry said: “The pups were cold, shivering and wet and just a little ball of ice.” The couple plans to keep one of the puppies, which they’ve named Polar and rescuers will continue trying to help the mother. The other two puppies will be adopted into forever homes!
