One-Eyed Pit Bull Hopes for a Second Chance

one eyed dog

Ten-year-old Norberta, a one-eyed pit bull, has spent the last four years at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah after being rescued from a kill shelter. Despite her sweet nature, she has yet to find a forever home.

Norberta has faced multiple medical challenges, including surgeries for an eye ulcer and knee issues. Though her conditions are now managed with medication, these health needs and her age have made adoption difficult. As a pit bull, she also faces additional hurdles in finding a home.

According to Meaghan Poillucci from Chewy, Norberta thrives on love and would do best as the only pet in a patient household. “She may take a short time to warm up to an adopter, but once she is comfortable with you, she’ll love you for life,” Poillucci shared.

To help her find a home, Chewy Claus will cover her adoption fees and transportation to anywhere in the country. Norberta’s ideal match? Someone who loves road trips and is ready to give her the retirement she deserves.
