It’s a display of kindness worthy of the holiday season.
Dogs love the holidays. With their families around to play and lots of tasty scraps to eat, the most wonderful time of the year can be just as wonderful for our canine companions as it is for us.
Unfortunately, just like humans, plenty of dogs don’t have anyone to share the holidays with them. Shelter dogs can be neglected during the holiday season, so a generous Magician named John Stessel took a trip to the Town of Homestead Animal Shelter, looking to brighten the holidays for a few lonely shelter dogs. In the video, Stessel makes a tasty-looking doggy treat vanish before their very eyes.
We begin with Ruckus, a pitbull who is simply overjoyed to be part of the action. At 0:22 he sees the treat vanish, and is in utterly adorable disbelief.
Prince is up next, and he’s a little more skeptical of the ‘magic.’ At 0:33, he seems to get the idea the treat is up the magician’s sleeve. It seems some dogs just need to find a rational explanation.
Then there’s Luna, who may very well be the most adorable little puppy on earth. She shows interest in the tasty nugget, but when the magician makes it vanish, she takes her revenge at 0:50 by stealing his hat!
Then there’s the precious Cali, who at 1:01, has had just about enough of the magicians devilry.
Thankfully, in the end, all of the dogs get to enjoy their treat. Although the dogs all had a blast getting to film something and be treated to a magic show, most of them still need a forever home to spend all their holidays.
