These tales highlight the power of compassion and the special bonds that can form between humans and animals, encouraging us to think differently about how we treat them.

She was pregnant, electrocuted, kicked, and dragged by her ears at an Upstate New York pork farm until a worker let authorities know what was going on. Farm Sanctuary came to the rescue, and just a few hours later she gave birth to her 17 piglets and started a life very different than her previous one.

This cow was found in terrible condition. She was incredibly skinny, unable to stand, and had patches of missing fur all over her body. It was obvious to the rescuer at Santuário Vale da Rainha that she needed some serious love and care. To transport her to the sanctuary, they had to roll the cow onto a tarp, even though she was in so much pain. Rescuers worked with her day and night, nursing her back to health until she seemed like a different cow – one who loved to cuddle.

The five stories of rescued farm animals we’ve shared demonstrate their amazing personalities. Each story shows how love and care can transform an animal’s life. These stories inspire us and make us think about our relationship with farm animals. By appreciating their value and advocating for their well-being, we can help create a kinder world where all animals are treated with the respect they deserve, rather than as food.
