Drones are Finding Animals Lost by Floods in Central Texas

In the aftermath of the recent floods ravaging Central Texas, Justin Cox and his team at Backcountry Drones LLC have emerged as heroes, using their cutting-edge technology to locate and rescue stranded animals. Armed with specialized drones equipped with thermal lenses, Cox can spot heat signatures of animals hidden in trees or submerged in water, operating seamlessly day or night. The recent flooding presented a unique opportunity for their drones to navigate the challenging terrain and aid in rescue efforts.

“We can spot it from at least 300 feet above the ground,” Cox explains, emphasizing the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. Their success stories range from reuniting dogs with their owners to locating exotic animals, with the team currently on the trail of missing ostriches.

Despite their achievements, Cox stresses that their mission is far from over. With animals still missing in the aftermath of the floods, Backcountry Drones encourages anyone in need of assistance to reach out via their Facebook page.
