This Little Girl Has Trouble Communicating – But Thanks to This Sweet Therapy Dog, Everything is Changing for Her (VIDEO)

Do you know a dog who changed your life? It happens so easily for many of us that even science has investigated the canine-human relationship and found that it runs deep. One study conducted at Goldsmiths College in the University of London revealed that dogs are even able to empathize with human emotions. Other studies have shown that pooches can help ease anxiety and help us establish a routine, as exhibited in programs that provide therapy dogs for soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Some universities have even picked up on the healing power of the dog and have started offering canine therapy sessions around finals time. It’s because of all of these extensive studies that therapy dogs are finally making their way to countries like Singapore.

The idea of therapy dogs may be new to Singapore, but one dog named Telly is already bringing a little bit of sunshine into people’s lives, one slobbery kiss at a time. Whether you are young or old, neurotypical or neurodivergent, male, female, or other, Telly does not discriminate and is always there for those who need him with a happy face and wagging tail. For Jarene, a special needs child, Telly is doing so much more. Jarene has trouble socializing, but thanks to her interactions with Telly, she’s growing more confident by the day. We hope that the positive impact that Telly is making in Jarene’s life gains more attention so that therapy dogs can eventually help even more citizens of Singapore.
