When we think of animals who like to cuddle, a few usually pop into mind. Dogs are pretty much number one on the list, followed by cats (friendly ones, at least), and even a little bird (at least with your finger). One animal that definitely doesn’t come to mind automatically is a bull. Generally, they are seen as one of two things: aggressive due to their association with the violent bullfighting industry or dumb, non-feeling animals that just munch mindlessly on factory farms until they are slaughtered.
In reality, bulls are incredibly gentle, affectionate, and intelligent creatures. They can recognize faces (just as we’re sure the bull in this video recognizes his caretaker’s), they form strong bonds with other animals, and even with their large stature, they love to run and play. The rescued bull in this video, who currently resides at Santuario Igualdad Interespecie, may be a large fella but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s a total mush! Just look at the way he nuzzles with his caretaker and clearly enjoys a good rub down. He looks like a giant dog!
It can be hard to let go of the preconceived notions of farm animals but if we are to see these creatures in their true light, it is imperative that we do.
