The above video reports an unbelievably sad case of animal cruelty that recently occurred in Kansas City, Missouri.  A five-year-old dog was discovered chained to a cinder block and left to drown in sinking mud by a lake. If rescuers had not found him in time, his fate would have been a certain death – if not from drowning, from starvation.

Thankfully, the sweet dog, now named Deputy, is now safe and sound at a SPCA shelter where he is eagerly awaiting a new home and family.

We love that this story ends happily for Deputy and we hope he finds the perfect forever home. However, the culprits of this heinous crime are still at large. Anyone with information regarding the incident is strongly encouraged to contact Jackson County Animal Control at (913) 475-6164. Please help seek justice for Deputy by sharing this story in hopes of finding the perpetrators behind this crime.
