If you’re a casual observer, you may have never noticed just how smart animals are. After all, animals spend most of their day doing casual things like eating, sleeping, and playing. While it’s true that animals don’t exactly “wear their intellect on their sleeves,” when they’re faced with a problem, their smarts shine through. Take this cool cow for example!
William the steer, who lives at Farm Sanctuary, was stuck behind a gate. It’d be a simple enough problem for a person (thanks to the opposable thumbs and all), but the answer isn’t as obvious for a cow. But that bovine brain got to thinking and William came up with a genius solution … using his tongue!
