Former Beef Farmers Are Transitioning Their Operation Into a Vegan Animal Sanctuary!

Wow! Former beef farmers are turning their property into … an animal sanctuary! Owners Jen and Tray Federici operated a small beef cattle ranch and despite trying to be very selective about who they sold their cows to, as they always wanted the best for them, the couple was caught in a moral conflict. How could they be animals lovers and still send cows to slaughter? That’s when they decided to only eat meat if they slaughtered the animals themselves. Still, they couldn’t find a resolution and were unable to cope with killing an older cow they had selected.

That’s when Jen and Tray decided to swear off meat and have turned their 100-acre ranch into a paradise for animals called the Surf and Turf Sanctuary. Amazing!

Now, Jen and Tray are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible and providing a loving, safe home for them. 

“Animals are amazing soulful creatures. They are all different and have unique personalities. They are intelligent, nurturing, loving, and downright funny. They feel pain, loss, sadness, compassion, and even grieve the loss of another animal or family member.” note Jen and Tray.

The Surf and Turf Sanctuary is now home to longhorn cows, calves, pigs, goats, chickens, and zebras, along with other rescued animals.

“Our goal is to educate and bring awareness for the animals. We believe every animal deserves the life it was given. No animal wants to die, just as no human does,” explained Jen and Tray about the transition.

As for their meat-free lifestyle, Jen and Tray say “We have never felt better or more healthy, both mentally and physically.” Awesome!
