While we all know how important it is to wash our fruit before eating, if you’d like to take another step of precaution, try a fruit wash! A fruit wash is a specially formulated solution that is designed to remove dirt, wax, and pesticides from the surface of berries. You can usually find a fruit wash at your local grocery store or health market. Just apply the wash thoroughly to the berries, let it sit for about a minute or so, and wash it off.

Storing your berries in containers is another great way to save time. Containers help to keep the berries fresh for longer, as they are less likely to be exposed to air and moisture. Samar also recommends placing an unbleached paper towel inside your fruit jars to help soak up extra moisture. It is important to make sure that the containers are clean and dry before storing the berries, as this will help to prevent mold and bacteria from growing. Unbleached paper towels are made from natural fibers, such as cotton or bamboo, and are free from any chemical bleaching agents, to ensure that there is no harmful residue left on your fruit.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your berries are clean and last longer. Enjoy!
